01Set up your laboratory. Drag an element from the cabinet into the laboratory. You can also double-click or tap its card. With a keyboard, use Tab to focus the card and press Enter. “Add all specimens” adds any that are missing.
02Mix and duplicate. To combine elements, drag one onto another or select one and then the other. If the combination works, the result replaces both elements and appears where the second one was. If it doesn’t, both stay as they were. To duplicate an element in the laboratory, double-click it or press Shift+Enter. On touchscreens, touch and hold an element to duplicate or remove it.
03Keep discovering. The “New” label disappears from every copy of an element once you use it in a combination that works. If you get stuck, select the lightbulb for hints that get more specific each time.
04Fill the poster vault. Each film you discover adds a poster to the vault. Films can’t be used in combinations. You can switch game modes anytime without losing your discoveries.
On mobile, tap the game title to switch modes. Specimens and Hint are at the bottom; the menu has help, settings, and Clear laboratory.
Use the A–Z button to arrange specimens alphabetically. On mobile, Add all is also in the bottom bar. Use the right scroll control to move through a crowded laboratory without dragging an element.
